Hmm, let me try to answer that.

Well at RomUlation we have Nintendo and Sony games, with Sony we stay with PSX and won't move into PS2 and PSP games. (besides the very few we have already and can't be bothered to delete)

PSX don't really sell any more so Sony isn't loosing money on sales, in fact, I'd say they're probably making some money on people buying the console and a modchip to play the games perfectly as emulation of PSX still isn't entirely optimal.

As for Nintendo I'm not really sure, but in my 4 years of having run a ROM site I've never had problems with them, I'd guess they probably care more about the extra units they sell.

Personally I like to believe that my users download games to test them and then buy those they find good. Those who don't intend on buying the games wouldn't have bought it even if they couldn't download it.

So the way I see it I'm doing users a favour, not by giving them free stuff on the expense of Nintendo but by giving them a chance to test games before spending hard earned cash on rubbish games.

If Nintendo were to license me to sell full-downloadable games and then get a percentage myself while also providing downloadable demo's of the games then I'd do that without a second thought since that would solve the grudge I have with Nintendo's service.
