EDIT: The site seem to be back online now! Whoo!
First there was Romulation, now another great rom site has been closed down – Dash Roms. Dash Roms offered http downloads of all kinds of roms, from Mame to Nintendo DS. If you visit their website now you will notice there is but a single line of text stating “This site has been suspended.â€
Recently Dash Roms had removed their direct downloads and instead used third party hosting for the roms . In fact most of the roms on this site were sourced from Dash Roms, and we are not the only ones using their roms. I think to have their account suspended, they must have been dumping the roms themselves. I hope so anyway, otherwise I’ll have to remove all links to roms off this site!

They don’t dump games them self no… They just spread them like I do. As for having to remove links from your site.
The DMCA says that it’s illegal to link to files even if they’re not hosted. So if you’re hosting in a country where the DMCA is valid (The USA) then it’s illegal, but then again, so is Google.

Cheers for the comment Seph. This site is hosted in the UK, so I don’t think that law applies - but theres bound to be something like it. I don’t see how someone could get in trouble for simply linking to someone else’s file can they? Its not like I would even know how to dump a rom!

Dashroms is down. When will it be back? That was a good site. I hope it will be back up soon.
